Anne L. (Temple) Gjeltema, 87, of Hudson, MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 24, 2019, at Coleman House in Northborough, MA, after a period of declining health. She is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband of 66 years, Peter, who predeceased her in October 2018.

Anne was born in Marlborough, MA, on August 28, 1931, daughter of the late David L. and Velma T. (Farley) Temple. She was raised in Marlborough where she graduated from high school in the Class of 1948, and shortly thereafter moved to Hudson. She married Peter Gjeltema, and together they relocated to Albuquerque, NM from 1952 until 1955, while he served his nation in the United States Air Force.  Anne worked for many years as an AT&T switchboard operator; followed by various Executive Assistant positions, before retiring from Data Checker/ DTS.

Anne enjoyed many hobbies including baking and sewing. She and Peter enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and the United States; wintering on Long Boat Key, Florida, and summering at their cottage on Lake Boon.  She very much enjoyed spending time with the girls in “Club”, her ladies’ group, that faithfully met every other Wednesday for nearly 58 years. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, and especially with her 5 grandchildren, who she adored.

Anne is survived by her daughter, Elaine B. Gjeltema of Hudson; her son, Paul D. Gjeltema and his wife Carol Ann of Stow; her sister, Patricia Sawyer and her husband Carl; five grandchildren:  Peter, F. Zachary, Samantha, Jonathan and Jesse Gjeltema; her special nephew Roger E. Temple; her lifelong best-friends Jeanne Blackman, Jerry Johnson and June Coolidge; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Roger A. and David L. Temple Jr, and 2 infant sisters.

Calling hours will be held from 4 pm until 7 pm on Thursday, August 29, 2019, at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA.
