Raymonde “Raye” L. (DeGrace) Vasselin, 94, of Hudson, Ma, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her beloved family, on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, after a period of declining health. She is reunited in heaven with her husband Charles H. Vasselin, who predeceased her in 2004.
Raye was born in Shippigan, New Brunswick, Canada, one of 10 children of the late, Louis and Josephine (McNally) DeGrace. She was raised in Canada, where she met the love of her life, Charles Vasselin, together sharing 59 wonderful years of marriage.
Raye was a devoted homemaker, who dedicated her time to raising their six children. Throughout her life Raye marched to her own beat and did not always do things the conventional way. She had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh, which she shared often. She was always kind, generous and very charitable; donating to many organizations through the year and especially during the holidays. She also was an avid gardener, crafter and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was one of a kind and an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who will be dearly missed by all.
Raye is survived by her six children, Kenneth Vasselin of Attleboro, Ma, Charles Vasselin and his wife Judy of Newton, Ma, John Vasselin and his wife Mona of Hudson, Ma, Victor Vasselin and his wife Terri of Maynard, Marguerite Erb and her husband Don of Andover, Ma and Lillian Arsenault and her husband Joseph of Waltham, Ma; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents she was also predeceased by her 9 siblings.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours from 6 pm until 8 pm on Friday, November 1, 2019 at TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, November 2, 2019 in the funeral home; followed by a procession to Forestvale Cemetery in Hudson for interment.
