With heavy hearts, we share that Aida Maria Moura, 69, of Hudson, MA, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 20, 2025.
Born in Santa Maria, Azores, Portugal, Aida was the beloved daughter of the late Jose B. and Gertrudes (Monteiro) Moura. From her early years in the Azores to her life in Massachusetts, Aida carried a deep love for family, tradition, and faith that touched everyone she met.
Aida dedicated many years of her career to her work at Setra Systems, where her dedication, strong work ethic, and kind spirit were deeply appreciated. Outside of work, she was a devoted member of St. Michael’s Parish, where her faith guided her and her presence enriched her community. She loved spending time at the Portuguese Club, celebrating her heritage through the Holy Ghost Society, and dancing joyfully at the Portuguese Carnival festivities. Her vibrant personality and deep connection to her Portuguese roots filled every room with warmth and laughter.
More than anything, Aida was devoted to her family. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she had a heart of gold and a wonderful sense of humor that brought light and love into every gathering. She found her greatest joy in nurturing her family by cooking traditional Portuguese meals, baking sweet treats, and filling her home with warmth and laughter. The memories of these moments, surrounded by the people she loved most, will forever be treasured.
The family will always hold close the memories of their yearly trips to Florida, Santa Maria, and visits with relatives in Canada, times that strengthened their bond and filled their hearts with happiness.
Aida is survived by her former husband, Joe A. Bairos; her beloved son, Kevin Bairos; her loving daughters, Tracy Bairos and Susan Mendonca and her husband Antonio; and her adored grandchildren, Jordan Bairos, Kayla Avila, Kyle Avila, Krista Avila, Kiera Avila, Kimberly Avila, Kody Avila, Jacob Mendonca, Nathan Mendonca, and Adam Mendonca.
She also leaves behind her dear brothers, Antonio Moura, David Moura and his wife Edilene, and Joe Moura; her loving sisters, Lucia Bairos and Lidia Scovil and her husband Dale; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and cherished friends who will miss her dearly.
Aida is reunited in heaven with her parents and her beloved sister, Natalia Moura.
