Barbara R. Sawyer

Barbara R. Sawyer, 82, a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, at the River Terrace Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center.

She was born March 7, 1943, in Marlborough, Massachusetts, to the late George and Ruth (Garcia) Blood and was a lifelong resident of Hudson. She was a graduate of Hudson Catholic High School, Class of 1961, and was employed as a secretary with the Lance Corporation Company. She was active in the Emblem Club and the Red Hat Society.

On September 28, 1963, she married Ronald S. Sawyer. They shared 62 years of marriage.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald S. Sawyer; her sons, Robert M. Sawyer and his wife Maureen, Thomas S. Sawyer and his wife Patrice, and Stephen C. Sawyer; and her daughter, Jodyan E. Sawyer. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Samantha, Mitchell, Kyle, Ryann, William, Jarrod, Ty, Jaclyn, Dylan, Brady, Austin, and Jake; her great-grandchildren, Lailah, Sophia, and Justin; her brother, John Blood and his wife Mary; her sister, Mary Jane Riccardi and her husband Bob; and her sister-in-law, Kathy Blood. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Leah Sawyer, and her brother, Ronald Blood.
