Betteann T.
McClellan
February 12, 1947 – June 15, 2026
Betteann T. McClellan, 79, peacefully passed away at her residence on June 15, 2026.
Born on February 12, 1947, in the Queens borough of New York to the late Sidney J. and Mildred L (Wagner) McClellan; Betteann was raised in a military household, a life that took her family to various locations throughout her childhood. From 1948 to 1958, her family resided in Malverne, NY, followed by Saxonville-Framingham, MA from 1958 to 1962. In 1963, she made Hudson, MA her lifelong home.
Betteann's educational journey included earning an Associates Degree, laying the foundation for a remarkable career. For 37 years, she devoted herself to working at the Medical Facility at Hanscom AFB as a Secretary. Of those years, 35 were spent in dedicated service to the commander, a testament to her steadfast reliability and professionalism. She retired from her position in 2003.
Deeply rooted in her faith, Betteann was a devout Catholic and a committed member of Saint Michaels Parish in Hudson, where she found spiritual solace and fellowship. Her faith guided her generous spirit and her unwavering commitment to those around her.
Known for her boundless kindness and willingness to give her time, Betteann was a beloved presence to family and friends alike. She was always ready to lend a hand—often offering rides and support whenever needed. Betteann was also an avid 10-pin bowler, a pastime she passionately embraced for most of her life. She proudly bowled at Maple Lanes in Marlborough and, more recently, at Bowlero in Shrewsbury. Alongside her sporting enthusiasm, she delighted in immersing herself in a good book, reflecting a lifelong love of reading. Betteann lived her life based on the philosophy “Growing old is mandatory. Growing up is optional”.
She is survived by her beloved brother Michael McClellan and his partner, Colleen Kilroy, as well as four nieces—Maureen, Karen, Josephine, and Mary—and a nephew, Francis. Betteann’s family also honors the memory of her sister, Maureen Roesler, who predeceased her.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Michael Parish 23 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. in Cemetery of Holy Rood 111 Old Country Road., Westbury, NY.
She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the generous heart and gentle spirit she so freely shared throughout her life.
