Carlos E. Colon Perez, 65, beloved husband, father, son, and friend, passed away on July 22, 2026, after a long battle with early-onset Alzheimer’s.

Born on November 11, 1960, in Cidra, Puerto Rico, Carlos lived a life marked by love, spirited determination, and dedication to the people around him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Cindy Agosto of 42 years, his son Joshua Colon, and his daughter Adrianna Colon of Hudson, MA, his sisters, Sonia Perez and Ivette Perez of Puerto Rico, and his step-brother, Luis Vicente of Arkansas. His parents Esteban Colon and Teresa Perez, pre-diseased him.

His early years were spent in Puerto Rico before moving to New York in 1975 at the age of fifteen. Carlos began a journey that took him to various homes: a decade in Lowell, Massachusetts, three years in Shirley, and ultimately he settled in Hudson, Massachusetts, where he created a warm and caring home with his family.

Carlos faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Army. He attended the US Army Infantry School at Ft. Benning, Georgia, and completed training at the US Army Quartermaster School, becoming a skilled Parachute Rigger. This experience shaped his sense of responsibility and honor, which he carried throughout his life.

Professionally, Carlos dedicated 35 years as a case worker for the Department of Revenue Child Support, where his compassion and commitment touched countless lives. He retired in 2024, leaving behind a legacy of service and integrity.

Carlos’s faith was a steady comfort in his life. A practicing Catholic, he was an active member of St. Isidore Catholic Church.

He was known for his unique sense of humor, his loyalty, and his caring nature. Always ready to lend a helping hand, Carlos made a lasting impression on those who knew him. His family fondly remembers how he would worry about everything, yet consistently offered love, support, and comfort to his children and those around him.

Carlos’s greatest joy was spending time with his loved ones. He delighted in camping trips with family and friends in New Hampshire, long days spent fishing at the lake, and thrilling white water rafting adventures. These excursions will be remembered fondly by all who shared them with him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 31st, 2026 at 10:00 AM in Saint Isidore Church, Great Road, Stow, MA. Procession will immediately follow to Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glennallen Street, Winchendon, MA for Committal Services.

Carlos E. Colon Perez leaves a legacy of kindness, service, and devotion. Those who had the privilege of knowing him will remember his gentle humor, his unwavering loyalty, and his immense heart. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
