Obituary

Carol A. Gault, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and dedicated community member, passed away peacefully at her home on March 23, 2026, with her devoted husband by her side. Born in Marlborough, Massachusetts, on May 25, 1938, Carol was raised in the close-knit town of Hudson, where she spent most of her remarkable life.

A 1956 graduate of Hudson High School, Carol’s early years were deeply rooted in the local community. She met her husband, Gerald G. Gault Sr., at a Hudson Portuguese Club Festival in their youth, embarking on a lifelong journey together that spanned 67 cherished years of marriage.

Carol’s professional journey was marked by dedication and excellence. She began her career as a sales manager with the Flatley Real Estate Group before accepting a pivotal role with the Digital Equipment Company. For many years, she served as an Executive Secretary at Digital, where her organizational skills and commitment to her responsibilities were highly valued until her retirement in 1996.

Beyond her career, Carol was known for her vibrant personality—organized, committed, and always enjoyable to be around. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family, who were the center of her world. Her unwavering and unconditional love as a wife, mother, and later grandmother and great grandmother, left an indelible impact on all who knew her.

Carol's interests extended into the arts and community service. An accomplished painter, she particularly favored primitive-style artwork, bringing creativity and personal expression into her life. She was a charter member of the Hudson Garden Club, demonstrating her passion for nature and community beautification. Her volunteer spirit shone through her work with Marlborough Hospital, where she played a key role in organizing fundraising events. Additionally, Carol generously shared her time and expertise with “Our Fathers Table” in Marlborough, selflessly organizing, cooking, and preparing meals for those in need. Both Carol and Gerry were very active as members of the "Friends of the Hudson Public Library".

Together with Gerald, she enjoyed winters in Florida, often visiting the vibrant communities of Naples and Orlando, embracing those years with enthusiasm and joy.

Carol is survived by her devoted husband, Gerald G. Gault Sr.; her son Jay Gault and his wife Andrea of Rutland, Massachusetts; three grandchildren Ashley Ruiz and her husband Rey, Jackie Beaulieu and her husband Sonny, and TJ Provencal and his wife Kacey; eight great-grandchildren; Angelina, Reynna, Alexas, Avery, Emerson, Mason, Benny and Teddy. Also her "daughter in law by choice" Susie Tack and her partner Chris Boudreau; and many other relatives and friends who hold her memory dear. She was preceded in death by her daughter Cathi Gault in 2007, and her parents, Albert and Mary (Downey) Bousquet.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, located at 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA. A Funeral Service and Celebration of Carol's Life will follow at 12 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial services will be private.

Carol A. Gault’s life was one characterized by love, dedication, and service. Her legacy is one that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
