Carol Louise McPhee

November 2, 1951 — October 10, 2025

Hudson, MA

Carol Louise (Vincent) McPhee, a beloved mother, cherished friend, and dedicated community member, passed away on October 10, 2025, at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus in Worcester, MA after a long brave battle with kidney disease. Born on November 2, 1951, in Concord, MA, Carol was raised in Stow, MA, where she laid the foundation for a life filled with love, care, and nurturing.

A proud 1969 graduate of Nashoba High School in Bolton, MA, Carol embarked on a career that reflected her attention to detail and commitment to supporting others. She began at Digital and continued at Datatrol in Hudson, MA. Most notably, she worked as an Administrative Assistant at the Marlboro Enterprise & Hudson Sun Daily Newspapers, where she assisted staff in organizing story entries and preparing them for publication for many years until retirement.

Carol’s personal life was defined by her profound love for her family. She was a devoted mother who always placed the needs of her children above her own. Her home was always open to family and friends, where she thrived on entertaining, especially during the holidays. She would prepare enormous amounts of baked goods for family, friends, and neighbors. Her penchant for being a “second Mom” to many of her children’s friends over the years, was intrinsic. Carol's warmth and generosity were felt by all who had the pleasure of sharing her company.

Her nurturing spirit was complemented by her creative talents. Carol enjoyed crocheting and knitting, crafting baby garments for expecting family members, friends, and coworkers. She also had a deep appreciation for music, having played the piano and guitar, and enjoyed singing through her younger years.

Carol’s life journey was complemented by her marriage to William Sr., and together, they navigated the challenges of family life, markedly during William’s service in the United States Air Force, which required the family to move frequently. After settling in Hudson, MA, a community Carol would come to cherish for over 50 years, she greatly enjoyed the familial nature of the town. Carol was a former member of the First Federated Church in Hudson, where she contributed both her time and talents, also working for a time doing administration for the church’s office and newsletters.

Carol is survived by her son, Brian McPhee, along with her former husband and close friend, William James McPhee Sr. of Winchendon, MA. She is also remembered by her cousins Bev and Fred Haefner, close family friend Tommy Morgan, her partner in crime Jessica Biggs, her brother David Vincent, as well as many other relatives and friends whose lives she touched with kindness and compassion.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Bill McPhee Jr., who passed in 2002, her father, John J. Vincent, her mother, Ellen (Groneng) Vincent, and her brother, John Vincent.

Carol’s family are considering plans to celebrate her life and pending at this time. Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home is honored to be assisting Carol's family with arrangements.

Carol’s memory will endure through the lives she has touched with her generous spirit and loving heart. She will be deeply missed by all whom had the privilege of knowing her.
