Catherine R. Moossa

Catherine R. Moossa, affectionately known as Cathy, left this world on October 29, 2025, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born on March 30, 1950, in Worcester, Massachusetts. She was a vibrant soul whose passion for life and unwavering spirit touched the hearts of many.

She is survived by her long-time friend Terry Frias of Marlborough and the Frias Family; her sister Maryann Belinskas of Shrewsbury; her sister Barbara Roughan and her husband Jack of Myrtle Beach; her niece Tracey Belinskas Roach and her husband Paul of Millbury; her great nephews Shane and Dylan Belinskas and their mother Tara Belinskas. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mabel A. and George K. Moossa Sr.; her brother George K. Moossa Jr.; her brother-in-law David J. Belinskas; and her nephew Keith D. Belinskas.

She graduated from Shrewsbury High School in 1969 and went on to lead a diverse and impactful career. She worked in various banking institutions, demonstrating her meticulous nature and strong work ethic. For many years, she also channeled her artistic talents as an exterior and interior painter, bringing color and vibrancy to homes and spaces. Cathy served as a house manager for Rhodes to Recovery in Millbury, Massachusetts, showcasing her dedication to helping others. Her compassion extended further as she worked as a caregiver with individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health disorders through various organizations such as the Glavin Center, BAMSI, The Bridge of Central Massachusetts, Greater Marlborough Programs Inc./Thrive Support & Advocacy. Additionally, she brought joy to many as a karaoke DJ for several years, showcasing her love for music.

Cathy had a passion for cooking, often delighting friends and family with her homemade dishes, particularly her renowned meatballs and sauce. Her enthusiasm extended beyond the kitchen; she was a well-informed conversationalist with a deep interest in history and various cultures, always eager to share her knowledge with those around her. Known for her loud and boisterous voice, she could often be heard passionately singing along to the songs of her favorite artists, such as Patsy Cline and Etta James.

She found immense joy in traveling, with Santa Maria of the Azores being her favorite destination. Gardening was another one of her loves, where she took pride in nurturing her lawn and flowers. She also enjoyed a long drive in her beloved MG midget that she had for many years. Her devotion was also evident in her affection for her beloved dogs, Bailey and Lucky.

Cathy’s legacy will be remembered through the countless lives she touched with her warmth, laughter, and unwavering dedication to those in need. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Visitation for Cathy will be held at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA, on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 11 AM to 12 PM.  A Funeral Service will begin at 12PM at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her name to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden Street, Worcester, MA, 01606.
