Clive Robert Holyoak, a devoted family man and respected foreman, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at his residence in Berlin, Massachusetts. Born on August 23, 1964, in England, Clive spent the majority of his life in the United States, residing in Marlborough before returning to the family home his father built, where he lived for the last 20 years until his passing.
A proud graduate of Assabet Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School, class of 1982, Clive built a distinguished career. He served as a general foreman for Barletta Heavy Division of Canton, Massachusetts, overseeing the construction of many roads and bridges throughout the New England region. After more than twenty years of dedicated service, he retired in 2024, leaving behind a legacy marked by hard work, expertise, and leadership.
Clive was known for his great sense of humor and commitment to helping others. His presence was unmistakable, characterized by a passion for family that defined his generous and optimistic spirit. Those close to him remember him as a person who put others before himself, always devoted one hundred percent to the people he loved.
Outside of his professional life, Clive enjoyed traveling with his wife Beverley (and anyone else who cared to join!) sharing precious moments at various time-sharing destinations throughout the year. He valued being outdoors, taking pleasure in yard work and driving his 'kaboda', activities that connected him deeply to nature and the home he cherished.
Above all else, family was Clive’s proudest accomplishment. He treasured every moment spent with his wife of 40 years, Beverley (Donnellon) Holyoak, and their children: Aleah King and her husband Logan; Zachary Holyoak and his wife Samantha; Garrett Holyoak and his wife Kelsey; Brendan Holyoak and his wife Michaella and Colton Holyoak and his fiancée Alyssa Miceli. One of his favorite roles was being "Tata" to his eight grandchildren: Aiden, Brantley, Jack, Ryder, Luke, Averey, Callie, and Clementine. He was also a beloved son to Raymond Holyoak and Anita (Moore) Holyoak, and a cherished brother to Terry Peltak, Rae Linda Boulanger, and Paula Murray. Clive extended his caring nature beyond the immediate family, reaching out to his nieces, nephews, many other relatives, and friends. His dedication also shone through in his volunteer coaching of youth soccer, being the best 'dance dad' and mentor. He also served many roles over the years at First Parish Church.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, located at 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. A funeral service to celebrate Clive's life will be held the following day, Saturday, April 25, 2026, starting at 11:00 AM at the First Parish Church of Berlin, 16 Central Street, Berlin, MA. Burial services will be private.
Clive's life was one defined by dedication, love, and selflessness. His memory will be treasured by all who knew him, and his legacy of devotion to family and community will continue to inspire.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation for the love and support shown during Clive’s transition, especially the compassionate care provided by the staff at Notre Dame Hospice, with special gratitude to Nick and Paula.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Clive may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute or the Make-a-Wish foundation.
