Edward J. Pagliuca, 79, of Hudson, Massachusetts, passed away on October 14, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on December 14, 1946, to Edward J. and Leona V. (Noska) Pagliuca, Edward lived a life defined by deep devotion to his community, a strong work ethic, and a profound love for his family.
Edward graduated from Somerville High School in 1964 and quickly began his career as a stockboy and delivery driver with Tony’s Food Land in Somerville before venturing into a long tenure with Sears Roebuck & Co. At Sears, Edward climbed his way through various roles— earning positions in loss prevention, operations management, and store management.
Throughout his life, Edward was an active and compassionate pillar of his community. As a young man, he became an Eagle Scout with the Boys Scouts of America. Later, he generously gave his time as a volunteer EMT with the Stow Fire Department, and helped guide countless new drivers as a driving instructor within the Boston area. A natural leader, he also served as President of the Boys & Girls Club and President of the Jaycees, both of Hudson, dedicating himself to community and youth enrichment.
Away from work and service, Edward found joy in simple pleasures and cherished traditions. He played guitar and once his band days ended, he enjoyed singing and playing his instrument for his family. Edward loved camping trips, watching sports, especially boxing, and partaking in local bowling leagues. He was also an avid fan of television and movies with classic westerns and action adventure being among his favorites. Halloween was Edward’s favorite holiday and for several years he transformed his yard and house into a spooky space for visitors to enjoy.
Edward was at his happiest when spending time with his family. Edward is predeceased by his beloved wife, Patricia A. (Couras), with whom he was married to for 46 blissful years and is survived by his daughter, Patricia A. Ott of Northwood, New Hampshire; his son E.J. Pagliuca, and his wife, Jennifer, of Cumberland, Rhode Island; and his daughter Leigh A. Bush, and her husband, Justin, of Berlin, Massachusetts. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren, Christopher and Amanda Zanca, Brianna Deluca, Holly Eaton, and Matthew Ott, Isabella, Emelia, Neva and Atticus Bush and Logan, Austin, and Abigail Pagliuca. In addition, he leaves behind his 6 great-grandchildren, Noah, Jaidyn, Aliyah, Paisley, Tyler and Hadley along with several nieces and nephews. Edward is also pre-deceased by his sister, Anna M. Ott, and son-in-law, Henry F. Ott.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Shrewsbury Nursing Home and Rehabilitation, VNA Care, and UMass Memorial Medical Center – Marlborough Campus.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2026 from 8:30 AM -9:30 AM at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 AM at Saint Michael’s Parish at 23 Manning St., followed by a graveside burial at Saint Michael Cemetery.
