Dr. Ernesto Y. Jose

Dr. Ernesto Jose of Sudbury, MA passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, February 18, 2024, surrounded by his close family. He was the beloved husband of Margarita Jose for 56 years. Ernesto also leaves behind his daughter Raquel Paredes and her husband Beto Paredes, his daughter Valeria Trujillo, her husband Juan Pablo Trujillo and their children Sofia, Alejandro, and Olivia. He is also survived by his sister Celia Palou and his brother Miguel Jose.

Ernesto was born on November 3, 1938, in Santiago del Estero, Argentina where he grew up with his parents and five siblings. Upon high school graduation, he moved to Rosario, Argentina to study medicine at Universidad Nacional del Litoral, where he met his wife. Soon after, they moved to the United States where Ernesto completed his training in Atlantic City, New York City, Washington D.C., and Boston. They eventually settled in Massachusetts, where Ernesto set up his private practice in Hudson, MA in Cardiology, Internal Medicine, and Geriatrics. He was an attending physician at Marlborough Hospital. Over the next 42 years, he attended to thousands of patients in the MetroWest area whom he treated like family. He was adored by his patients.

In 2014, he received the Outstanding Physician Award from Marlborough Hospital. In 2016, he was recognized as Community Clinician of the Year by the Massachusetts Medical Society. He also received an Outstanding Service Award from Marlborough Hospital for his many years of outstanding clinical service and dedication.

He will be remembered as a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and physician. Most importantly, he will be remembered for his kindness of heart, compassionate nature, generosity of spirit and unique sense of humor.

Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home at 50 Central Street in Hudson, MA. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Ascension Parish at 160 Concord Road in Sudbury, MA.
