Eugene (Mickey) Davis, 74, of Hudson, MA, died on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at Marlborough Hospital.
Mickey leaves his wife of 50 years Paula Jean (Albertini) Davis of Hudson, MA; his 2 sons, Christopher Davis and his wife Heather of Berlin, MA, Matthew Davis and his wife Stacey of Hudson, MA; his daughter Gina Pryor and her husband Jonathan of Northborough, MA and his 7 grandchildren, Alyssa Davis, Jillian Davis, Brynlee Davis, Harley Davis, Sebastian Pryor, Derek Pryor and Jake Pryor. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Kendall Rose Davis. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Ronald Albertini; 2 sisters, Marion (Trudy) Notartomaso, Cynthia McCarty and her husband Frank along with his many nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends. He was predeceased by his brothers Gerald Davis, Ronald Davis and Russell (Tommy) Davis and his sister Dorothy Zilembo.
Mickey was born in Concord, MA, son of the late Eugene and Lucy Mae (Jones) Davis. He was raised in Hudson attending local schools and was a 1968 graduate of Hudson High School. Following high school Mickey went to work for General Motors in Framingham until he joined the U.S. Air Force. He served in Saigon, South Vietnam as a Vietnam Veteran. He returned to work for General Motors for 23 years followed by 22 years with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation until retiring in 2015. Mickey eventually began working at Marlborough Country Club following his retirement, overseeing the driving range and assisting the staff with tournaments and special events. He truly enjoyed the time he spent at the Country Club. He was a member of St. Michael Parish in Hudson and a life member of the Hudson Lodge of Elks.
Mickey enjoyed caring for his home and especially took pride in mowing his lawn. Mickey loved traveling with Paula, his children and grandchildren. Cruises were always a favorite, with the most memorable being Mickey and Paula’s 50th anniversary cruise with the entire family. He always looked forward to spending his summers at South Yarmouth on the Cape. Mickey’s true passion was his family. He was a dedicated Father and Grandfather who never missed a special event. He cherished all the times they shared together and attending the many sporting events of his children and later his grandchildren. He was unique in a special way to all who loved and knew him and will always be remembered for his kind heart and willingness to help others.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the compassion and care extended by the Marlborough Hospital ER staff.
A funeral service will be held at the Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 12:00PM. Family and friends may attend a period of visitation from 10:00 AM to 12:00PM prior to the service. Procession will follow to Saint Michael Cemetery, Cox Street, Hudson, MA for committal services.
