Eugenia immigrated to the United States of America in 1966. She worked as a machine operator at Thomas Taylors and Sons in Hudson MA for 32 years. She was a devout Catholic and proud member of St. Michael’s Parrish.

Eugenia greatly enjoyed taking care of her family and cooking special Holiday treats such as Bolos de Bacalhau, Leitria, Folar and Malasadas. She also loved cooking meals for family such as Sopa de Couves, Chicken and rice, Beefs and all types of Seafoods. There was always something going on in the kitchen.

Eugenia’s hobbies included knitting, crocheting, and sewing patches to all her sons’ torn pants. She was often seen walking with her sister Maria Lourdes all over Hudson andespecially on the Assabet River Rail Trail which they joyfully referred to as the “Rua des bicicletas”. Usually, these walks included stopping by and spending afternoons with their lifelong friend Mariana Nogueria. She enjoyed watching TV which included,Westerns, Dallas, MASH, Mike and Molly, Emergency and Old Movies including Shirley Temple. Her Favorite TV show was the Portuguese version of the Price is Right, “O Preco Certo”. Many afternoons were enjoyed guessing the final price.

Finally, Eugenia was very religious. She prayed daily and watched Catholic Mass on TV. She lit many candles at St Micheal’s while attending various masses. She instilled strong Catholic beliefs in all her children. Her joyfulness, smile and laughter will be missed by all who came in contact with her. She truly was a blessing to be around.
