Fay B. Farber

Fay Bedard Farber passed away peacefully in her home on July 24, 2026 surrounded by her loved ones and close friends who were ever present with her for the last months of her life.

Fay was born on January 16, 1943 in Worcester, MA and grew up in nearby Oxford, MA. After high school she went to the Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene in Boston from 1961 to 1963. In 1968, she married David Farber in Worcester and moved to Sudbury to raise their family. Fay worked as a dental hygienist before joining David in running their company, Bestrest Mattress in Worcester, MA.

Fay lived a full life. She was always up for a game of mahjong, Scrabble, or cards. You could find her on the sidelines of almost every soccer and lacrosse game played by her grandsons for the last 13 years, fair weather or foul. She served the community volunteering at the Parmenter Foundation, the Domestic Violence Roundtable, and Gifts of Hope in Sudbury. She took up golf in her 60s and rarely missed a fairway. She loved playing with her “golf friends” and her grandsons, and even got a hole-in-one once. She enjoyed traveling and cruises, and especially loved weeks on the cape or in Maine where she would rent a house every summer for her extended family to be together.

She is predeceased by her beloved and dearly missed husband David Farber, and is survived by her two daughters Alyssa Farber and Carolyn Farber Rose. She is also survived by her two sons-in-law, Grant Cole and John Rose, as well as her two cherished grandsons Charlie and Will Rose, and her brother Alan Bedard.

Please join Fay's family for a time of visitation at the Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA on Thursday, July 30th, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A funeral service and celebration of Fay's life will follow at 12:00 PM.

A reception following the service will be announced at the funeral home on Thursday.
