Frederick E. Prindle, Sr., 71 of Milford, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 31, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.
Fred was born in Ayer, Ma on September 12, 1946, the only child of Elden and Annabele (Hopkins) Prindle Olgilvie. Fred was raised in Maynard, Acton and Stow and attended Nashoba Valley High School. After finishing school, he enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his Nation from 1964 until 1968 during the Vietnam War. Fred worked as a truck driver for Duralectric and Mass Electric for many years before he eventually retired.
Fred was a lifetime member of the Hudson AMVETS Post 208; he held several positions in the AMVETS as Post 208 Commander, District 5 Commander, State Provost Marshall and volunteer. Fred had a lifelong passion for bringing the best to the men and women who served their country. He will most be remembered as a generous and caring man, who opened his heart and home to anyone in need. Fred was a great husband, father and grandfather and will be forever missed by his friends and family.
Fred is survived by his beloved wife Lynda S. (Tervo) Prindle; five children, David S. Prindle and his wife Cindy of Linwood, MA, Frederick E. Prindle, Jr. and his wife Jean of Marlborough, Laura J. Chase of Marlborough, Lisa M. Ventura of Marlborough and Karen Kennedy and her husband Steven of New Hampshire and thirteen grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, June 4, 2018, at TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA, with a ritual performed by the Hudson AMVETS at 6:00 pm. A Celebration of his life will be held the following day at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, in the funeral home; followed by interment and military honors in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Fred’s name to the Bedford VA Hospital, Activities Department, 200 Springs Road, Bedford, MA 01730.
