George J. Clark, affectionately known as "Sunny," passed away on June 17, 2025, at UMASS Medical Center, University Campus in Worcester, MA. Born on August 9, 1934, in Hudson, MA, George lived a life characterized by warmth, positivity, and dedication to his community.
Raised in Hudson and residing there his whole life, George attended local schools and graduated from Hudson High School. His early years were marked by a unique personality that shone brightly, evident from a young age and lovingly recognized by his mother, who affectionately gave him the nickname "Sunny." This inclination towards finding joy in all situations became a defining aspect of his character throughout his life.
George served honorably as a Vietnam Veteran in the United States Army, dedicating several years of his life to his country before being discharged in 1963. Following his military service, he enjoyed a successful career as a Bank Manager, a role that allowed him to support and positively impact many individuals in his community. George's quiet and unassuming nature, combined with his respect for others, left a lasting imprint on those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, George had a notable passion for aviation. He held a Commercial Pilot's License, which he primarily pursued for the sheer enjoyment of flying. Many cherished memories were made as he soared through the skies from Sterling, MA, relishing every moment spent in the pilot's seat.
George's zest for life was underlined by a fervent desire to thrive, aspiring to live to the remarkable age of 130. His personality, often characterized by a positive outlook, touched the hearts of family, friends, and acquaintances alike.
He is survived by his brother-in-law, Fred Drew, the husband of his late sister, Sylvia Drew. George was preceded in death by his father, Moses Clark; his mother, Verna "Haynes" Clark; his sister, Virginia Wallack, and her husband, Frank; and his sister, Sylvia Drew.
A graveside service to honor George J. Clark will be held on June 26, 2025, at Forestvale Cemetery in Hudson, MA. The service will begin at 12:00 PM, followed by Military Honors.
George’s legacy is one of quiet grace, warmth, and an unyielding spirit, reflected in the memories he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
