Greg Jackson, 61, of Lancaster, MA passed from pancreatic cancer on February 28, 2023. His battle was only a few months, yet he fought valiantly.
He is survived by his wife Carol (Webb) Jackson and precious son Madison “Ronan” Jackson. He is also survived by his mother, Virginia (Botts) Jackson; sister Deb (Glen) Mikolajczyk; mother-in-law Mary Evelyn Webb; his sisters and brothers-in-law along with many loving nieces and nephews. He will be missed by The Buddy Jackson of Texas and many wonderful cousins in Arkansas and Texas. He was preceded in death by his father Leo T. Jackson Jr. and father-in-law Ralph L. Webb.
Greg’s cousin Kim fondly called him “MacGyver” and said Greg was brilliant in every way. He was a conservationist, a good businessman, a great father, husband and son. Greg spent a lot of his time on work as a Commissioner on the Lancaster Conservation Commission. He was very passionate, thoughtful and thorough about protecting Lancaster. He cared about the earth, animals, forests and the people in his community. Greg loved the Boy Scouts Organization, becoming an Eagle Scout when he was younger. In his spare time he loved being outdoors, he loved to ski, kayak, hike and bike. His passions included; music, Boston Bruins, football, cooking and grilling; recycling and taking care of his mother’s financial matters. Most of all Greg cherished being with his family.
Greg will forever be remembered as a kind, gentle, generous and an exceptional human being who didn’t have a mean bone in him. His sense of humor, kind heart and sense of responsibility will forever be cherished by all who loved and knew him. Please remember his wife Carol, son Ronan, sister Debi and mother Virginia Botts Jackson in your prayers.
A Celebration of Greg’s life will be held at the Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at 12:00 PM. Family and friends may attend a period of visitation from 10:00AM to 12:00 PM prior to the service. Committal services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
