Ted was born on June 5, 1934, on the Isle of Man, where he developed a deep pride for his Manx ethnicity that he carried throughout his life.
After his formative education at King William's College on the Isle of Man, Ted's adventurous spirit led him to study aboard the training vessel HMS Conway. This early commitment to maritime training paved the way for a distinguished career with the Cunard Steamship Company, where he served in the Pursers' Department aboard the illustrious liner’s “Queen Mary” and “Queen Elizabeth.” Following this experience, Ted transitioned into a long and rewarding career in Human Resources, working for several companies, notably United Fruit Company, Simplex Time Recorder, and Prime/Computervision.
Ted's dedication extended beyond his career; he was a man of remarkable character, known for his kindness and witty sarcasm that endeared him to many. He maintained a caring and insightful perspective on the lives of those around him, always ready to offer valuable advice. His love for history was reflected in his passion for reading, often accompanied by the beautiful melodies of his vast collection of classical music CDs. Together with his wife, Nicole, Ted enjoyed traveling with a particular fondness for cruises, especially river cruises.
In addition to his professional achievements, Ted served honorably in the U.S. Army until his honorable discharge in January 1965. He also played a significant role in the professional community as a Past President and Executive Director of the New England Employee Benefits Council.
