Irene F. (French) McGee, 96, of Hudson, formerly of Maynard, died Thursday, July 8th at Bolton Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Marlboro. She was the wife of the late James McGee who died in 1981.
Irene was born in North Wilbraham and raised in Greenfield, NH, daughter of the late Charles and Mabel (Denno) French. She was a long time resident of Hudson and resided in Maynard prior to moving to Hudson. She took great pride in the care of her home and raising her children. She became a "Gold Star Mother" member after her son Leo Horan was killed in action in 1966 while serving during the Vietnam War.
She is survived by her two sons, John Horan of Mountain Lakes, NJ, James Horan of Winchendon and mother of the late Leo Horan and Charles McGee who died in 1993. She is also survived by her sister, Edna Morgan of Hudson; her brother George French of Florida; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Charles French and Bell Pennimen.
