JACQUELYN F. ZIEGLER

Jacquelyn (Jackie) F. (Rougeau) Ziegler, formerly of Hudson, MA, died on September 2, 2026, surrounded by her family at Beaumont Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center in Northborough, MA.

She was married to Carl (Ziggy) Ziegler for 68 years before he passed away on September 7, 2018. She leaves seven children: Susan Rucho (Donald) of Southport, NC; Kyle Ziegler (Susan) of Berlin, MA; Karen Longtine (Brian) of Hudson, MA; Keith Ziegler of Berlin, MA; Sheri Fuller (Robert) of Boylston, MA; Kim Ziegler (Ed) of Broomfield, CO; and Kris Ziegler (Raquel) of Framingham, MA.

She is survived by her brother, Paul Rougeau (Judy) of North Myrtle Beach, SC. She was predeceased by her sister, Gail (Rougeau) Barry.

Jackie leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Adam Rucho, Zachary Rucho, Jaclyn Longtine, Leif Longtine, Matthew Fuller, Keri (Fuller) Young, Jennifer (Ziegler) Bellany, Kyle Martin, Joshua Ziegler, and Olivia Ziegler. She also leaves seven great-grandchildren: Maria and Rosalie Bellany, Brayden and Cameron Fuller, Mary-Arden and Roland Rucho, and Reid Boyle, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Jackie was born in Lawrence, MA, daughter of Roland and Viola (Brodeur) Rougeau. She lived in Hudson for 86 years before moving to Whitney Place in Northborough in 2018. She graduated from Hudson High School in June of 1950 and in September married the love of her life, “Ziggy.”

Jackie worked for the Sandoz Company and then D & M Shoe in Hudson. She always dreamed of being a nurse. After raising seven children, she completed a Certified Nursing Assistant course at Assabet Valley Vocational School and worked for a short time as a home health aide. She went on to become a Dental Assistant, working many years for Dr. David Cerul, DMD, in Marlborough, MA, before her retirement.

Finding a true group of friends who stand by you through thick and thin is a rare and special thing. Jackie was so fortunate to have met a wonderful group of girls, “The Sewing Club,” who turned into lifelong friends: Jean Blackman, June Coolidge, Gerri Johnson, Helen Caragian, Ann Gjeltama, Trudy Durand, Muriel Thompson, and Jeanette Richards.

They met on Wednesday nights, once a month, for over 50 years, rotating the location to each member’s home. Together, the “girls” loved and supported each other through many of life’s ups and downs throughout the years.

Jackie’s true love was her family. She and Ziggy were frequently found at their children’s and then grandchildren’s family celebrations, sporting events, school plays, graduations, and many of their other extracurricular activities.

She loved the beach—Hampton Beach, Oak Island, Longboat Key, just to name a few. She and Ziggy traveled frequently to North Carolina to see family. They went on to start a yearly tradition, extending their travels to Longboat Key, Florida, to vacation with friends.

Jackie took her first and only solo flight (Ziggy-less) in 2013. She traveled with her daughters and her sister, Gail, to visit her brother Paul (Judy) in California. It was such a memorable trip!!!

Jackie was a former member of Christ the King Church in Hudson, MA, and then St. Joseph’s Church in Berlin, MA.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff at Whitney Place/Beaumont and Notre Dame Health Care Hospice for the kindness, compassion, and loving care they provided to Jackie and for helping to make Jackie's final days peaceful and comfortable.  Their kindness and care will always be remembered and deeply appreciated.

Visiting hours will be from 10:00 - 11:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11AM at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home in Hudson, MA, on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. A Christian burial will be held at North Cemetery in Berlin, MA following the services.

The family requests that flowers be omitted and that contributions be made in Jacquelyn’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association or Notre Dame Health Care Hospice Program.
