James T. Rago, 63, of Hudson died on Friday, Feb. 3rd, at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus in Worcester after a brief illness.
He was the devoted son of James W. and Faith (Thomas) Rago and was a lifelong Hudson resident. Jim was a 1977 graduate of Hudson High School and attended Sylvania Technical School. He worked as an electrical technician at Raytheon Corp. his entire career.
He was a member of the Hudson Elks and the Riverside Gun Club and a life member of the Sons of Amvets. Jim was a World War II history buff and enjoyed following local sports as well as the Boston professional teams, particularly the Patriots.
Known to many as Jimmy, he enjoyed meeting with friends at the Hudson Amvets and chatting with patrons and staff at the 110 Grill in Berlin.
He is survived by many first cousins including Lona Lamson of Hudson and Lynne Sheldon and Leah Lamson of Bolton.
The family would like to thank his many caring neighbors in the Butman Street neighborhood and the staff in 3 ICU at UMASS Memorial.
Calling hours at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA 01749 will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2023. The Hudson Elks will be performing their ritual service at 5:30pm. A private burial service will take place on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
