Janet M. Perkins

Oct 11, 1934 — Sep 8, 2026

Hudson, MA

Janet M. Perkins (Senecal), passed away on September 8, 2026, in Acton, Massachusetts. She was born on October 11, 1934, in Marlborough, Massachusetts, and was raised there before spending most of her life in Hudson, the community she called home for so many years. She devoted her life to family; when daughter Nancy was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 5, Janet made it her mission to educate herself on everything diabetes in order raise Nancy in a world full of challenges for a diabetic child back then. Janet played the role of both "mom and dad" when her husband George went to Boston College 2 or 3 nights a week for nearly 10 years. When Lynda and Nancy were young Janet loved to surprise them announcing they were packing a picnic, beach chairs and the beach blanket and heading to Hampton Beach for the day.  She also gave her time for many, many years as a chaperone for the Hudson Royal Jades.

Janet shared many happy memories traveling throughout New England with her husband, George.  "Remmus on the Rocks" York, Maine;  Sparhawk Oceanfront Resort Oguinquit Maine; the Chesterfield Inn, Chesterfield, NH, the Beach House, Bass River, MA, and the many different cottages they rented over the years in West Yarmouth and West Dennis near the beach; Saybrook Point Resort & Marina, Old Saybrook, CT.   A few times a year they traveled to R. A. Georgetti & Company in Old Mistik Village, Mystic CT where both Janet and George spent hours browsing the beautiful wares, particularly looking for unique Christmas decorations for themselves as well as family and friends.  They also enjoyed traveling to Vermont to take in the fall foliage and visit "Christmas Shops" along the way.  Janet especially loved to be by the ocean; while vacationing on Cape Cod in the summer she spent hours reading many books in her lounge chair on the beach where George would bring her lunch at noon.  Reading was her favorite pastime, a quiet pleasure that reflected her thoughtful nature.

Janet was a wonderful, funny, feisty lady who had a unique sense of humor and facial expressions that could put you in your place without her saying a word. Many times those facial expressions were directed at George who enjoyed their unique banter.

Janet will be remembered above all for being a loving wife, mother and loyal friend.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband, George Perkins; her daughter, Nancy M. Morin; her father, Ronald Senecal; her mother, Doris Senecal; her brother, David Senecal; and her son-in-law, Jamie Collazo.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynda M. Collazo, and her son-in-law, Philip Morin. She leaves behind many relatives and friends who will remember her affection and gratitude.  Her life touched those around her in lasting ways and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
