Janice (Lorito) McBratney, 77, of Hudson, MA, formerly of Quincy and Randolph, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026.

Janice was born on January 4, 1949, in Quincy, MA. She graduated from Quincy High School and went on to graduate from Bridgewater State College and later received a master’s degree from Lesley College. She was a teacher and educator in Randolph public schools for many years.

Janice loved literature, art and all things French. Friends and family will remember her talent for cooking, baking and her ability to make every holiday special. She had amazing style and a flair for fashion and decorating. She was so loved and will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

Janice is survived by her spouse of 55 years, Ernest McBratney, her daughter Siobhan Hanley and son-in-law Jay Hanley and grandchildren Teresa, Jack and Patrick, daughter Tara Read and son-in-law Chuck Read and grandchildren Shepherd and Tristan, daughter Beth McBratney and son-in-law Paolo Meineri and grandchildren Louis, Raphael and Rosalie and daughter Allison McBratney.

Funeral services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations to the American Cancer Society.
