Mar 21, 1939 — Sep 7, 2026

Hudson, MA

Joan E. Vento of Hudson, MA passed away peacefully at her home on September 7, 2026, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with ALS. She was the beloved wife of Thomas P. Vento with whom she shared 42 wonderful years of marriage.

Joan was born March 21,1939 in Cambridge, MA to the late William Goodbar and the late Emma (Carson) Goodbar. She was raised in Newton, MA and was a graduate of Newton High School.

Joan enjoyed life's simple pleasures, but what she most treasured was her family. She will be remembered as a devoted mother and a caring Nana. She provided endless support and a listening ear to those she loved. She had a gift working with seniors, professionally and personally, with her unwavering respect, empathy and patient nature. She touched many lives with her kindness, lighthearted spirit, and witty sense of humor.

She appreciated life’s little joys- tending to her plants, admiring wildlife, the sound of falling rain, and trips to Ogunquit, Maine. She was an excellent cook who poured her love into every dish as having her family around the table brought her great happiness. Joan’s kindness and caring will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Joan is survived by her husband Thomas P. Vento of Hudson MA, her sisters Donna (Dave) Rodriguez and Barbara (Joe) Pravetz, children Jack Curry (Dawn), Sherry Bates (Steve) and Billy Curry; step-children Tommy Vento, Joann Driscoll (Bill) and Joseph Vento (Kat); her cherished grandchildren Ricky Rouse, Jessica (Drew) Blomberg, Billy Curry, and Emma Curry; and step- grandchildren, Katie Driscoll, Tommy Vento, Ryan (Jess) Driscoll and Robert Vento, great-granddaughter Brinley, great-grandson Brooks Blomberg, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her son Richard Curry and her brother William Goodbar.

Joan’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
