John A. Gledhill

John A. Gledhill, a respected figure known for his vibrant personality and love for family and friends, passed away on August 3, 2025 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He was born on November 14, 1955 in Portsmouth, Virginia during a time when his father served at the local Naval Base. John lived a rich and fulfilling life marked by dedication, humor, and a deep connection to his family and friends.

Raised in Hudson, Massachusetts, John attended local schools and eventually became one of the finest offset pressman in the area. From 1980 until 2004, John worked at Optima Press in Marlborough, MA where his craftsmanship spoke volumes about his commitment to excellence. Following his tenure there, John transitioned to a successful career at MKS of Franklin, MA, where he continued to make a significant impact in the medical industry for 20 years before retiring this past January.

Beyond his professional life, John was known for his unique sense of humor that brought joy to those around him. He possessed a charming blend of traditional values and charisma, making him a beloved presence in any gathering. John enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including golfing and bowling with friends as well as participating in many golf and bowling leagues in the area. He also found pleasure in playing pool with his brother and friends during outings with friends.

John is survived by his loving mother Nancy "Brown" Gledhill of Marlborough, MA, his children Jessica Stier and her husband Matt of Hudson, MA, and Jim Baran of Hudson, MA. He is also survived by his siblings Rick Gledhill and his wife Jody of Marlborough, MA, Barbara Palatino of Houston, Texas, Brenda Hurt and her husband Mike of League City, Texas and Cindy Benoit of Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Additionally, John leaves behind many nieces, nephews, grand-doggies and other relatives and friends who will miss his warmth and generosity.

He is predeceased by his father Warren L. Gledhill, and his former wife, Patricia C. "Kavanagh" Gledhill.

A visitation in honor of John will take place on August 16, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home in Hudson, Massachusetts. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life, beginning at 1:00 PM and concluding at 2:00 PM at the same location. It will be a time to reflect on the cherished memories and lasting contributions that John made to the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing him. Burial services will be held privately in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson, MA at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of John may be made to The American Stroke Association (ASA), a division of the American Heart Association at www.stroke.org
