John “Jack” Frederick Sullivan, 74, of Maynard, died on September 1, 2024 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
Jack grew up in Johnson City, NY and attended Tri-State University in Indiana where he received his degree in Engineering. He lived in Chicago for some time while enrolled in the GE Manager Training Program, before relocating to Saugus, MA and working for the GE plant in Lynn. Jack lived for many years in Manchester-by-the-Sea and raised his family there. He spent a lot of time in Endicott and Binghamton, NY, and ultimately resided in Maynard, MA. Come winter, he enjoyed escaping the cold for sunny St. Petersburg, FL.
Jack worked for General Electric as an aviation engineer for 45 years until his retirement in 2016. While working, he traveled all over the world and took beautiful photos. He was an avid New England sports fan and particularly enjoyed watching the Red Sox and Patriots. He loved to spend time golfing, fishing, woodworking, working on his motorcycles, tending to his garden and feeding the array of birds in his backyard. He had a profound interest and knowledge in cars, aviation, and history, especially regarding the military and world wars. Jack enjoyed a nice steak, his coffee black, a glass of Bourbon and a fine cigar. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his loved ones.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents Francis Sullivan and Irene Frtyal, his sister Shayne Sullivan Crouch, and his beloved first son Justin Patrick Sullivan whom he dearly missed. He is survived by his sister Kelly Sullivan of St. Petersburg, FL; his son Ereck Sullivan and his wife Wendy and their daughters Sophia and Emalia of Manchester-by-the-Sea; his son Casey Sullivan and his girlfriend Chrissi Salvato of Medford; his devoted partner of 14 years Linda Colaluca of Maynard, her daughter Amy Scavone and her husband Jim and their daughter Isabella of Clinton, and her son Patrick Colaluca and his fiancé Sheila Deane of Lancaster; and his Aunt Marlene Malchak, his cousins Chris and Jeff Malchak, Rick Gabello, Francine Westfall and her husband Rich.
