Jose R. Braga, 68 of Hudson, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at St. Mary Healthcare Center in Worcester, after a period of declining health.
Jose was born and raised in Santa Maria, Azores, Portugal, the son of the late Joao and Maria (Resendes) Braga. He later moved to Hudson, where he worked as a self-employed contractor. He also enjoyed fishing, making homemade wine and playing drums in the band at the Hudson Portuguese Club.
Jose is survived by his five children, Tina Frias and her husband Paul of Hudson, Jason R. Braga and his wife Jessica of Clinton, Joseph D. Braga of Hudson, Thomas M. Braga of Danvers and Kristina I. Tecca of Portsmouth, NH; four grandchildren, Paul Frias, Jr., Nathan Frias, Jason Braga, Jr. and Uriel Mayo; four siblings, Maria R. Rego, Evangelina R. Braga, Denis R. Braga, and Arsenio R. Braga and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 am on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Saint Michael Parish, 21 Manning St., Hudson, MA, followed by interment at Forestvale Cemetery in Hudson. TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME is honored to be assisting with Jose’s arrangements.
