Karen M. Lund, a beloved member of her community and a dedicated professional, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025, at Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln, MA, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born on March 5, 1958, in Niagara Falls, New York, Karen was raised in a nurturing environment where she developed early on a strong sense of family and community.
Karen's educational journey led her to earn her Bachelor's Degree from Nichols College in Dudley, MA, which laid the foundation for an esteemed career in the banking industry. For over 40 years, she exemplified commitment and professionalism, serving as an accountant and later achieving the role of Vice President. Her dedication to her work shone brightly throughout her tenure at various local banks until her retirement in August 2024.
In the early 1990s, Karen and her loving husband Jeffrey S. Lund settled in Hudson, MA. Together, they created a warm and welcoming home, fostering connections with their neighbors and friends in the community. Karen was a devoted wife who cherished her time with Jeffrey, her partner for 40 years.
Outside of her professional life, Karen was known for her bright spirit and interests that brought joy not only to herself but also to those around her. She enjoyed bird watching and spent many rewarding hours tracing her lineage as a member of the New England Genealogy Society. Additionally, she was an ardent supporter of her favorite sports teams, being a Red Sox fan and a true enthusiast and die hard fan of the Buffalo Bills football team.
Karen is survived by her cherished husband Jeffrey; her brother Doug Bottom of Florida; her nephew Dylan Bottom; as well as other relatives and friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts. She was predeceased by her father, Donald Bottom; her mother, Frances (Riscile) Bottom; and her brother, Gary Bottom.
As we remember Karen M. Lund, we celebrate her dedication to her family, her unwavering commitment to her career, and the joy she brought into the lives of everyone she encountered. Her legacy will endure through the love she shared and the memories she created with all who knew her.
