Katherine "Katie" Ryan McLaughlin (Arsenault) passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on October 19, 2026. Born on June 22, 1988, in Worcester, Massachusetts, she was the beloved daughter of Joe Arsenault and Kim Welsh (Ryan).

Katie was a fighter whose strength, resilience, and determination inspired everyone around her. After a long and courageous battle, she is now reunited with her brother, Thomas "Tommy" Arsenault.

Katie met her husband and soulmate, Jay Sean McLaughlin, at a young age. Though life took them on separate paths for a time, they later reconnected and built a beautiful life together. Katie proudly introduced Jay as her first boyfriend in middle school. Their three-day romance was even documented in her childhood journal, a memory that would become a cherished reminder of a love story years in the making.

Katie attended Hudson Catholic High School, where she formed many lifelong friendships. She later studied Early Childhood Education at Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont. Having grown up helping at her family's daycare, First Steps, Katie's gift for caring for others was evident from an early age. She dedicated herself to nurturing babies and young children, a role she cherished until she became a mother herself.

The birth of her daughter, Isabelle Kristine, in 2016 fulfilled one of Katie's greatest dreams. She embraced motherhood with boundless love, energy, and devotion. She was the fun mom, the comforting mom, and always the present mom. With the arrival of her son, Hunter Joseph, in 2019, her family was complete. Katie treasured every moment spent with her children and took immense pride in the life she and Jay built together.

The family made their home in Woburn before returning to their hometown of Hudson in 2022, where Katie was surrounded by the people and community she loved.

Katie is survived by her devoted husband, Jay; her beloved children, Isabelle and Hunter; her father Joseph C. Arsenault and his wife Arlana, who reside in Shirley and her mother Kimberly A. (Ryan) Welsh and her husband, Jack Welsh, who reside in Strafford, VT; and a community of family members, friends, neighbors, and supporters who stood by her side throughout the past six years. Her family is deeply grateful for the overwhelming love, kindness, and support shown during her journey.

Katie's bright spirit, infectious laugh, and deep love for her family will be remembered always. The impact she had on those fortunate enough to know her will live on in countless memories and in the hearts of all who loved her.

Visitation for Katie will be held on Friday, October 23rd, 2026 from 4-7pm and Saturday October 24th from 10-11am at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St, Hudson, MA 01749.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 24th, 2026 at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home beginning at 11am followed by a procession to Forestvale Cemetery located at 170 Broad St, Hudson, MA 01749 for burial.
