Kenneth V. Patton, 82, a longtime resident of Hudson, MA, died on Saturday, July 5th at the Reservoir Center for Health and Rehab in Marlborough, MA after a period of declining health.
Ken leaves his two children, Kenneth V. Patton Jr of Hudson MA and Lisa Schliker and her husband Chuck of Hudson, MA: his 3 grandchildren, Anthony C. Patton, Anthony M. Patton and Alexander Patton. He was pre-deceased by his wife of 55 years Susan (Tidey) Patton in December of 2022.
Ken was the son of the late George and Evelyn (Bloomer) Patton. He was one of 7 children who all grew up together in Stoneham MA. He was predeceased by his brothers George, Jimmy, Don, and his sisters Susie (Perry) and Ruth (Garand). He is survived by his youngest brother Richard. “Uncle Butch” has many nieces and nephews.
Ken served in the US Navy from November 1966 through September 1968 during the Vietnam war.
Ken and his wife moved into the Lakeview neighborhood in Hudson in the early 1970s. They moved to Santos drive in the late 1980s and lived there until 2022. Ken was the owner of Lakeside Exxon in Marlborough from the early 1970s until the early 1990s. In addition to running the business, he was also a mechanic. Ken worked at Tucks Service Center in Hudson as an attendant for several years before retiring.
Ken loved to sing. He was a member of the Massachusetts All State Chorus when he was in high school. He was a member of the First Church in Marlborough choir in the late 1970s through the early 1990s. He also sang in several community choruses including the Northborough Community chorus and the Marlborough Community chorus. Ken joined the United Methodist Church of Hudson chancel choir in the mid 90s when his daughter Lisa was appointed as Music Director and sang with the group for over 20 years.
Once Ken and his wife retired, they loved to take day trips in the area. They often went to Cape Cod, the coast of Maine, and the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. They also enjoyed traveling to have ice cream at Rota Spring Farm in Sterling, MA. They also enjoyed their weekly date night at Longhorns.
Ken and his wife moved into the Branches of Marlboro shortly her death in 2022. He loved living at the Branches and enjoyed participating in all the activities. He was grateful for the staff that took care of him (and his cat Bailey).
A period of visitation will be held on Friday, July 18th, 2025, at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home located at 50 Central St., Hudson, MA from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM following a service at 5:00PM with military honor at the funeral home. Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home is honored to assist with arrangements.
