Kevin J. Murphy, 55, of Hudson, died on Wednesday, Dec. 9th at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Deborah J. (Marshall) Murphy of Hudson.
Kevin was born and raised in Hudson, son of the late John E. Murphy and survived by his mother, Dolores M. "Dolly" (Alves) Murphy of Florida. He was a 1972 graduate of Hudson High School and received his Bachelor's Degree in 1976 from Notre Dame University in South Bend, IN. He later received his MBA Degree from Strayer College in Washington, D.C. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1976 and became a career officer in the Navy until retiring in 1994 as a Lieutenant Commander. He was a member of the Hudson Lodge of Elks and member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by his children, Kelly and Katie Murphy of Hudson; his sister, Robin Murphy-Benson of Lafayette, IN; his three brothers, Timothy Murphy of Marlboro, John Murphy Jr. of Boxboro and James Murphy of Oakland, CA. He is also survived by his in-laws, Bryan, Irene and Jamie Millett of Hudson and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, Dec. 14th, at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Dec. 13th, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
