It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Linda (Newman) Lubetzky, age 78, of Hudson, Massachusetts. The brilliant light that Linda shone on family and friends was forever dimmed on Monday, December 29th following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. At the time of her passing Linda was in the presence of her beloved Daughter Yael and her cherished partner of 30 years David King.
Linda is survived her loving partner David King of Hudson Massachusetts, her daughter Yael Lubetzky (New York, NY); her son Gil Lubetzky, his wife Tanya and her cherished grandchildren, Tye, Trent, and Boston (all of CA) her sister Janet Targoff, and many nieces and nephews.
Linda was born to Saul and Miriam Newman and spent her childhood years in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. It was there that she developed a life-long love of music, often attending Tanglewood with family members. She learned to play the guitar and began singing folk music in high school. This passion followed her when she moved to the Boston area. At first singing in Cambridge and then moving to performing in community theatre musical productions after settling in Brookline with her former husband Itamar Lubetzky. It was during this time that she and a fellow performer formed an all-girl trio called the Pastelles. The Pastelles would go on to entertain around the Boston area at private and corporate events, holiday and birthday parties, weddings, and first nights in Concord, NH and Newburyport, MA. Their performances at the Hope Community Church in Newburyport were a must attend event.
Services for Linda will be private at the convenience of the family. Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home is honored to be assisting Linda’s family with arrangements.
