Manuel J. Moitozo

July 26, 1930 — January 16, 2024

Manuel J.  Moitozo “Manny” (Clinton, MA) formerly of Marlborough, Hudson and Stow, 93 years old, went to be with the love of his life, his wife, Gladys (Sallaway) on Tuesday January 16, 2024.

 

He survived by his loving and devoted family, his granddaughter Suzanne Roach, his Great Grandchildren Trevor Roach and Bryanna Johansen also his best buddies, Boomer, Gizmo and Willow aka his “cutie pie”.

 

He was the (step)father of the late Gail Roach and father-in-law to the late David Roach Sr

 

Grandfather of Edwina and her husband Patrick Condry, Cindy and her husband Scott Reid, David Roach Jr and his partner Elizabeth de Almeida, Great Grandfather to Meghan and her husband Zachary, Kyle and Colleen Condry, Ashlyn her husband Tim Albert, Catherine and her husband David Belbin, and Caroline Reid, Great-Great Grandfather of Adelyn, Paige, Everly, Parker and Nels.

 

He was the son of the late Manuel and Catherine Moitozo. Brother of Mary Forand, and the late Frances Mason. Uncle to Linda (Phil) Savoy, Mary Ann Mason-Conlon, Mike (Lisa) Mason, Steve (Kristine) Mason, , John Forand, Rose (Rich) Donovan-Thies and Sally (Eric) Lampi.Along with many other great nieces and nephews.

 

He was born and raised in Hudson, MA. Went to St Michaels schools, graduated from Hudson High class of 1949.  He played semi pro football for the Marlboro Redskins 1952.

 

He was employed at Diamond Shoe Inc 1949 to 1970 where he met and fell in love with Gladys. He was employed at Mass Container from 1970 until Retirement in December 1995.  After retirement he enjoyed vacationing in Maine.  Day trips all over New England with Gladys. He loved going out to breakfast. At the old Big Apple Deli restaurant where he found a bonus granddaughter Dawn and bonus great granddaughter Trinity and recently added a bonus Great Great Granddaughter Mia. And until Covid he could be found at Jake's Coffee Shop 6 days a week. Where he would be proudly wearing his New York Yankees Jacket sitting at the counter.

 

He was a diehard fan of all sports. He was a walking, talking, version of Google on football, basketball and baseball. He was a fan of the New York Yankees, New England Patriots, Boston Celtics and Boston Bruins. 

 

He will be greatly missed by his family and best little buddy, Boomer.

 

A graveside service will be held for Manny on Wednesday, January 24th, 2024 at 11am at Saint Michael Cemetery located at 278 Cox Street, Hudson MA.
