Margaret R. (White) Manzo, a lifelong resident of Hudson, Massachusetts, passed away on September 23, 2026, in Worcester, Massachusetts, surrounded by family. She was born on September 5, 1936, in Marlborough, Massachusetts, where she grew up in a simple stucco home with her many siblings, and raised by her mother, Marion White.

Peggy, as she was known to those around her, was endlessly sweet, generous, and thoughtful to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She worked different jobs over the years, to include Thomas Taylor & Sons, St. Jude's Nursing Home as the Laundry Supervisor, and later as an associate at Walmart until she retired to help take care of her triplet grandchildren. The joy of family only continued to grow with the arrival of her great-grandchildren.

Peggy enjoyed going on occasional trips to the casino with her late husband, Samuel Manzo, Jr., and with her daughter Holly, creating dear memories her family will cherish forever. In her younger years, she enjoyed going dancing with her sisters and Sam to country "tearjerkers." She was quite skilled—and could do anything from line dancing to the jitterbug. Even in her mid-sixties, she performed in a recital with her daughters, Holly and Joy. She was known for her deep love of horror movies and soap operas—the former of which had begun as a small child; where her grandfather, an employee at the local movie theater, would let her and her siblings into the theater to see the old films for free. She spread this passion to later generations, who continue to view and enjoy the same films she once loved. Faith was an important part of her life, and she attended church as often as possible throughout her life, first at Christ the King Church and later at Saint Michael’s Parish. 

Above all, Peggy’s life was defined by the immense love she gave to her family. In fact, to know her was to feel it constantly: she never forgot a birthday or special occasion, and was very punctual with letters, phone calls, and texts to those she cared about. She is survived by her daughters, Holly Gray and Joy Stockwell, and by Joy’s husband, Brian Stockwell of Clinton. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren: Lindsey Lawrence and her husband, Adam, of Lancaster; Melissa Stockwell of Clinton; and James, Connor, and Shealyn Gray, all of Gardner. Peggy was also the proud great-grandmother of Jacob, Courtney, Haley, and Lydia Lawrence, as well as Dalton and Jenna-Kate Fischer. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, whom she loved so dearly. She is further survived by her beloved sister, Adelaide “Squeezle” Saragian.

She was predeceased by her brothers, William “Snookie”, Valmore “Peachy”, Lawrence “Larry”, and Kenneth White, as well as her sisters Patricia Bushey and Arlene Dawson.

All who loved Peggy are invited to gather on Tuesday, September 29th, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street., Hudson, MA 01749. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at 1:00 p.m. at Forestvale Cemetery, Broad Street, Hudson, MA 01749.

Peggy will be remembered for her unwavering love, support, and the great joy she found in her family. Her memory will live on in the generations that cherished her as she did them.

Her family finds solace in the fact that she's now reunited with the love of her life, Samuel Manzo, Jr. The pair had been married for 31 years. In the words forever etched in stone: Sam and Peggy forever.
