Maria do Ceu (Correia),Gageiro-Viegas, of Hudson, MA, died on Sunday, February 4, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at Westborough Healthcare in Westborough, MA. Maria do Ceu was predeceased by her loving husband of 31 years Antonio F. Viegas in February of 2023.

Maria do Ceu leaves her daughter, Lucia “Lucy” M. Gageiro and her husband Renato Almeida of Hudson, MA and her two grandchildren, Gage and Kaya Bairos of Hudson, MA. She is also survived by her sister Maria de Fatima Alexandre of Hudson, MA, sister Brigida Martins and her husband Joao of Leominster, MA; sister-in-law Celeste Chaves of Hudson, MA, sister-in-law Maria Jose Viegas of Hudson, MA, brother-in-law Angelo Viegas of Hudson, MA along with her many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. 

Maria do Ceu was born and raised in Obidos, Portugal; where she enjoyed the combination of the country side and the ocean.  Ceu emigrated to the United States settling in Hudson, MA in 1979. She was employed for many years by the Former Data General in Southborough, MA until retiring. She was a member of Saint Michael Parish in Hudson, MA. Enjoying her time as a lecture and a member of the Portuguese Choir.  

Ceu had many hobbies and interests including spending time in her yard caring for her flowers and always looked forward to going shopping. She spent a lot of her free time crocheting many items for family and friends. She looked forward to visiting with friends at the Hudson Portuguese Club, Hudson Senior Center and the Wayside Athletic Club in Marlborough, MA. Travelling and visiting Cape Cod beaches was always special for her, especially with Antonio, her daughter and grandkids. Her most cherished moments are when she could spend time with her family preparing many of their favorite dishes and desserts, while dancing and singing in the kitchen.  Her smile and caring nature will be truly missed by all who loved and knew her. 

Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 5 to 8pm on Tuesday,  February 13, 2023 at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Wednesday, February 14, 2023 at Saint Michael Parish, 21 Manning St., Hudson, MA; followed by a procession to Saint Michael Cemetery in Hudson for Committal Services.

All services for Maria do Ceu Gageiro-Viegas will be held as scheduled, and will not be impacted by the storm beginning on Tuesday 2/13/24.
