Hudson, MA

Marie Pauline (Cormier) Martin of Hudson, formerly of Waltham, passed away peacefully at home on April 13, 2024 at the age of 77 after a long illness.

Marie was born on January 8, 1947 in Moncton New Brunswick CA in the Humphrey neighborhood.

She had many hobbies which included gardening, photography, crafting, collecting shells and stones from the beach, watching game shows and golf on television, and travelling to the many casinos to try her luck with the slot machines. She was also a great cook and made many memorable meals for the family through the years. Most importantly, Marie’s favorite pastimes included spending time with her husband, her family, especially her grandchildren, and her close friends. She never forgot birthdays, anniversaries, or other special dates important to the people she loved. Marie worked at Brandeis University for thirty five years and made many lifelong friends. She spoke often of so many students whose paths she crossed and the memories she always cherished.

Predeceased by her parents Gerard and Dora (Richard) Cormier, brothers Norman, Paul, Joseph, and Donald as well as sister Janet.

Marie is survived by her husband of fifty eight years Robert P Martin, two sons Robert P Martin Jr and wife Diane of Ashby, Ronald P Martin and wife Sonya of Framingham.

Her brother Albert Cormier and wife Carol of Burlington, sister Mary Cormier and partner Denise of New Brunswick Canada,  sister Muriel Bolio of Webster NY, and sister in-law Janet Hemingway and husband George of Burlington.  She also leaves behind five grandchildren and will be forever missed by them and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

At Marie’s request, there will be no services held. There will be a private celebration of life at a later date for family and friends.
