Marion L. Shea

December 24, 1938 — January 11, 2024

Hudson, MA

On January 11, 2024, Marion L. (Ordway) “Meme” Shea, 85, of Hudson Mass., peacefully passed away in her sleep.

She was the daughter of Pearly and Annette (LeDuc) Ordway. Marion was born at home on Christmas Eve. at 104 Spring Street in Marlboro Mass.. She was one of ten children and is survived by two brothers, Robert and Charles Ordway.

Marion attended the Marlboro school system and was employed at the Oxford Restaurant in Marlboro and the Hudson Police Department before retirement.

Marion was married to the love of her life, Richard D. Shea Sr. on September 19, 1959. They were married for 59 years before Richard passed away at the age of 81 on September 29, 2018. The loss of Richard left a hole in her heart that could never be filled.

Marion is survived by her three sons and their families, Keith and Cindy Shea of Marlboro Mass., Richard (II) and Linda Shea of Leominster Mass., and Christopher and Christina Shea of Hudson Mass.,

Nine grand children, which she loved and cherished so dearly, Ashley Shea, Matthew Shea, Katey (Shea) Mitchell, Meaghan (Shea) Maldari, Richard Shea III, Devon Shea, Alexa Shea, Kayley Shea and Emma Shea.

Seven great grand children, Kylie Mitchell, Mason Mitchell, Brayden Mitchell, John Shea, Olivia Maldari, Alison Maldari and Abel Charbonneau.

Marion loved life, her family, friends and pets. She was an animal lover to the fullest extent. She considered her many cats and dogs as her “four legged children”. All who knew her always said when they die, they want to come back as one of Marion pets as she takes better care of them than she did herself. She held that thought close to her heart.

She always talked about her “3 boy’s” to all she knew and enjoyed watching them play hockey and baseball in the Hudson Youth Sports Program. She was so proud of the family she raised. Marion enjoyed family cook outs and holiday gatherings surrounded by her family listening to country music.

She will be missed dearly by her loving family and friends as she was a special person with a true heart of gold. She is at peace now after a wonderful life lived. “Meme Shea” will be where she has longed to be for many years.  She will be laid to rest by the side of her true love “Pepe Dicka”, together again, in peace, forever. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of Meme, but our lives were so enriched from the life and love she gave us.  God bless you Marion, mom, Meme, your loving memory is forever left in the hearts of your many friends and family members.
