Marjorie Keirstead, a devoted mother, grandmother, and longtime resident of Hudson, passed away peacefully on May 29th, 2025 at the age of 91.
Marjorie was born in Waltham, Massachusetts, to Kenneth and Viola (Crocker) Goggin. Her life was marked by dedication, quiet strength, and a deep sense of responsibility to her family and community.
As the wife of a career Air Force serviceman, she lived in various parts of the United States and Europe—including New York, South Carolina, Germany, Holland, and California—before settling in Hudson in 1972.
She was a committed member of the Hudson United Methodist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Marjorie was employed for several years at Inforonics in Littleton, where she was respected for her sharp mind, attention to detail, and steady work ethic.
Though serious and reserved, Marjorie had a deep affection for her family and a dry, memorable sense of humor. An avid reader with a particular love for detective stories and murder mysteries, she also appreciated the simple joys of life—Friday night dinners with her sister-in-law Phoo, breakfasts at Sunnyside, and taking her grandchildren to P.C. Creams, often declaring that ice cream made a perfectly acceptable dinner. She was known for making hagels on toast for breakfast when her grandchildren visited, a tradition they fondly remember. Marjorie had a lifelong love for animals, especially cats, and would stop to rescue turtles from the road, sometimes letting them swim in the kiddie pool in her yard. She enjoyed long drives accompanied by Oldies 103.3 on the radio and always looked forward to tea and cookies during her visits to Connecticut.
Marjorie is survived by her children: Kathryn Keirstead of Hudson, MA, Steven (Georgeanne) Keirstead of Guilford, CT, and Kristyn (Mark) Chiasson of Lunenburg, MA; and her grandchildren: Jessee Keirstead, Brittany (Blake) Mohrmann, Kassidy Keirstead, Amber (Tom) Shamp, and Julie Cyr and her fiancé Adam Healey. She will be sadly missed by her family.
Services will be private at the wishes of the family.
