Mary A. (Kerrigan) Shay

Mary A. (Kerrigan) Shay, 91, of Hudson, MA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at Marlborough Hospital. She is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband of 66 years, Joseph C. Shay, Jr.

Mary was born in Hudson, MA, on February 7, 1929, a daughter of the late William and Maude (Myrick) Kerrigan. She was raised in Hudson, MA, where she graduated from Saint Michael Academy in the class of 1946 and went on to study for two more years at Burdett College in Boston. Mary had a long and successful career as the Secretary Supervisor for the Hudson Public Schools. She was a lifelong member of Saint Michael Parish in Hudson.

Mary is survived by her children, Patricia M. Shay and Timothy J. Shay and his wife Dawn Marie; two grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her son, Michael J. Shay; and 4 siblings, Thomas Kerrigan, Robert Kerrigan, William Kerrigan and U.S. Army PFC John Kerrigan, who was killed in action in WWII.

Calling hours will be held from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Friday, December 18, 2020 at TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St. Hudson, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 am on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Saint Michael Parish, 21 Manning St., Hudson, MA; followed by a procession to Saint Michael Cemetery in Hudson for final committal services.
