Mildred Ann (Mann) Rollins, born on December 22, 1934, in Framingham, MA, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025, at the Life Care Center of Acton after a period of declining health. She was a beloved member of her community and is remembered for her warm personality and loving nature.
Mildred was raised by the Puffer family on Red Acre Road, Stow, MA., where she attended local schools. For over seventy years, she resided in Hudson, MA, a town she cherished deeply. Mildred dedicated much of her professional life to caring for others, working primarily as a cook at Westridge Healthcare of Marlborough, now known as Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center, until her retirement. Her love for cooking was evident, she particularly enjoyed baking; apple pies, whoopie pies, and blueberry kuchen all made from scratch, and she took great joy in creating treats for her family and friends.
Mildred's vibrant and outgoing nature shone through in all her interactions. She had a remarkable ability to connect with people, effortlessly striking up conversations even with strangers. Her bright smile, great sense of humor and unique warmth drew many to her, and she was always candid yet kind in her thoughts and expressions.
A member of Grace Church in Hudson, Mildred enjoyed attending services and cherished the many friendships formed there. Beyond her devotion to family and faith, she led a simple yet fulfilling life. In her spare time, she liked to engage in word search puzzles and had a passion for adventure, often looking forward to scenic car rides and summer trips to Ericksons Ice cream in Maynard with her dear friend Carol. Notably, she cherished the memory of a special cross-country trip taken with her friend Donna, which served as a highlight in her life experiences.
Mildred's greatest pride was her family. She deeply valued her role as a caring matriarch, particularly in nurturing her grandchildren, and she was blessed with a legacy spanning five generations.
Her family includes her loving daughters, Sallie Uettwiller of New York, Sue Ostertag and her husband William of Harvard, MA; sons Michael Rollins and his wife Melinda of Georgia, Richard Rollins and his wife Diane of Marlborough, MA, and Jonathan Rollins and his girlfriend, Amanda Johnson of Hudson, MA, along with nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren, with many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Mildred was predeceased by her husband, Shirley (Buddy) P. Rollins, who died in 2011, her parents Walter Mann and Vera (Ulman) Mann, and four siblings.
As friends and family remember Mildred (Minnie) A. Rollins, they celebrate a life marked by love, connection, and a deep appreciation for family and community. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
