Paul Cabral Coute

A beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend, Paul C. Coute of Berlin, MA, left us on October 13, 2026.

To Paul, family was everything, and he was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren, and encouraged all of them to chase their dreams. He and his wife Denise enjoyed a lifetime of love and laughter, and became the model for his children as they started their families.

Paul was a fantastic baker, a terrible speller, had the most random assortment of trivia knowledge and loved his Kubota tractor. The grandkids would look forward to chatting with GP (Grandpa Paul) to hear his “dad jokes” which he made sure he had ready whenever they called. When leaving a conversation with Paul, you could count on him to say “stay out of trouble” or “be good, have fun, learn a lot.” Visits to GP’s house usually included homemade cookies or a trip to get ice cream. Paul simply enjoyed spending time with his family.

Paul was preceded in death by his father, Augustine Coute, and his mother, Mary (Cabral) Coute. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Denise, his son Steven and daughter-in-law Amanda, daughter Nicole and son-in-law Mark. GP will be missed by his grandchildren, Joel, Sydney, Zachary, Sean and Mallory. He also leaves his sister, Evelina (Coute) Ramelli of Berlin, MA, his brother Robert Coute of Epping, NH and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives near and far.

1. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23, 2026 at Tighe Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA from 11 AM – 1 PM, followed by a a Celebration of Life service at the funeral home. Graveside burial will be held at South Berlin Cemetery, Pleasant St, Berlin, MA. No need to wear black, Paul requested bright colors, but please come as you are comfortable.
