Paul Michael Lively, 68, of Hudson, Massachusetts passed away peacefully at home late Monday evening, November 24th, 2025, after a courageous journey through a prolonged illness. He was a great guy and extremely observant, often the quiet one during conversation, but always had that one-liner that would make family and friends erupt in laughter. No one was safe!
Born in Hudson, Massachusetts, to the late Chester and Helen (Hester) Lively. He grew up in the Houghton Street neighborhood, and built lifelong friendships along with family that carried and supported him, especially in his final days. He spent most of his summer on Lake Dunmore in Vermont enjoying his grandson, Birk which brought him such great joy. Paul loved the great outdoors, where he spent time fishing, hunting and later in life discovered a passion for photography. He loved every minute of every day and especially the twilight hours. When not in Vermont he would be found enjoying the sunset and evening sky at the old Chedco Farm in Berlin.
Paul loved to work around his home and paid special attention to his yard. He fussed over the landscaping and took pride in a beautiful green manicured lawn. Sundays were spent enjoying the NFL game line up. He was a devoted NE Patriots fan and enjoyed hosting friends and family to join him at home on game days. He made it a point to spend time with his children, never missing a sporting event or school activity. He taught his children the importance of hard work and to never miss work or be late. He modeled that behavior his entire life. He also passed on his love for seeing live music to his children. Teaching them the culture of classic rock and following bands like Crosby, Stills & Nash, Stevie Wonder, Boz Scaggs, Santana, and the Grateful Dead, to name a few.
It will be hard to forget someone who gave us so much to remember. Not a day will go by when you are not loved and missed.
Paul graduated from Hudson High School, (Class of '75) and graduated from Quinsigamond, earning his degree in Finance and Accounting and went on to work in Facilities Management and began his own commercial cleaning and carpet cleaning business for over 25 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Maryanne; his children, Kelley Linn Zilembo and her husband Dennis Zilembo Jr. (Buck) of Bristol, Vermont and William Paul (Will) Lively of Clinton; and his grandson, Birk Wren Zilembo; his brother William (Bill) Lively and his wife Joanne of Hudson; his brothers-in-law’s Luke Fannon and his wife Vicki of Hudson; John Fannon and his wife Bea of Louisville, KY; Mark Fannon and his wife Diane of Kittery, ME; Matthew Fannon of Beverly, MA; and Patrick Fannon and his wife Janie of West Yarmouth, MA and his nieces, Lisa Moss, Sara White, Kate Patton, Christen Rogers, Sarah Curry, Kayley Falvey, Erin Sim, Dana Jewitt, Kori Fannon and his nephews Philip Bazydlo and Taylor Bemis, and his great nephews, Ryan and Willie Patton, Scott and Michael LaFleur and his great niece, Madison Lafleur. He was predeceased by his sister, Hester Lively Bazydlo and his brother-in-law William Bazydlo.
Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 4:00pm – 6:00pm on Thursday, December 4th, 2025, at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA; immediately followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 6:00pm in the funeral home.

During this holiday season, you may consider doing something Paul did regularly and cover the Dunkin run tab for the car behind you in line. This brought Paul great joy.
