Rita de Jesus (Batista) Stone

Jul 30, 1931 — Oct 8, 2026

Hudson, MA

Rita de Jesus Batista Stone, 95 of Hudson Ma, was welcomed into the arms of her precious Lord on October 8, 2026. She was the cherished wife of her adoring husband, Irvine Stone.

Rita was born in Massachusetts on July 30, 1931. She is the loving daughter of the late Manuel and Filomena (Batista) Esteves.

In addition to her most loved late husband, Irvine, Rita is survived by her beloved brother, Joaquim Esteves. Rita is now reunited in heaven with his cherished wife Marie, Rita’s cherished brother, Manuel Batista and his beloved wife, Olga. Rita is also lovingly remembered by Joaquim's three children, Jack Esteves and his wife Wendy of Peabody, David Esteves and his wife Melissa of Hudson and Rosanne Esteves of Hudson. She leaves behind Great Nephews and Nieces, who she loved to take care of. They brought back sunshine to her life when Irvine passed away ~ Jonathan, Daniel and Olivia of Hudson and Sherrie of Peabody. Rita is also survived by her Nieces Laura Bertonassi and her husband Mark of Hudson, Teresa McCook and her husband Chris of Georgia. Along with many great Nieces and Nephews who she loved dearly.

Rita was exceptionally hard working. Throughout her career, she worked in several factory positions, where her strong work ethic, expertise and commitment to excellence made her a valued member of every team. Her skill on the production line helped create quality products and she took pride in knowing that her hard work made meaningful contributions. Rita often maintained more than one job such as working nights at Caldors and selling Avon on the side.

Rita loved spending time in her beach home in Wells, Maine. Irvine and Rita loved being together and exploring Maine in their RV and spending Winters in Florida. A beautiful cook and baker ~ we will forever miss our Tia Rita's Portuguese Rice, Flan and Chiffon Cake. Rita faithfully planted and maintained a beautiful flower and vegetable garden at her Hudson home. Rita had a true gift for creativity and an eye for beauty. She took great joy in arranging flowers and expressing her artistic talents through painting and beautifully transforming everyday pieces into something truly unique.

Rita was a kind and compassionate individual whose gentleness and quiet strength touched the lives of her loved ones and those around her.

Rita walked her own path, lived life on her own terms and did so with grace and a quiet courage that was uniquely her own.

Rita (Tia Rita) will forever live on in the stories we tell, the memories we cherish and the love she left within our hearts.
