Robert C. Curley

January 5, 1958 — April 28, 2025

North Attleboro

Robert “Bob” or “Bobby” Charles Curley, Esq., age 67 years, of North Attleboro, MA passed away suddenly on Monday, April 28, 2025. He is fondly remembered by his friends and family for his unwavering dedication to those around him, especially his wife of 35 years, Stephanie, and his lifelong achievements and service despite suffering from blindness from a young age.

Bob was born in Everett, MA on January 5th, 1958. He was the first of four sons of his parents, Yvonne Claireaux and the late Robert Curley. Bob was visually impaired and legally blind from childhood, and he attended the Carroll Center for the Blind. He graduated from Hudson High School in 1976. He received his associate’s degree from Greenfield Community College in 1980, his bachelor’s degree from Suffolk University in 1986, and his juris doctorate degree from Boston College Law School in 1989. Bob credits the positive change in his life’s trajectory to his community college education, and he believed that Greenfield filled important educational gaps for students in need of financial support or with disabilities.

Bob married Stephanie Tegu on April 21, 1990 at Immaculate Conception Church in Marlboro, MA with Fr. McLaughlin officiating. Bob and Steph met in 1978 and spent 46 years in love and entirely devoted to one another. Both natives of Hudson, they moved to North Attleboro in 1996 and raised two sons, Alexander and Michael. Bob was a practicing Roman Catholic and parishioner at St Mark’s Church/Transfiguration of the Lord Parish in North Attleboro.

Bob prided himself on being a champion and role model for accomplishment despite visual impairment. With Steph never leaving his side, he graduated as salutatorian from Suffolk University and excelled in law school and legal training. Bob worked for over three decades as an attorney for the United States Social Security Administration before retiring in 2023. Professionally, he was known as one of the most productive attorneys in his office. His lifelong achievement was marked by unwavering dedication to justice and the legal system, and he was the recipient of numerous recognitions for his years of public service. He received the Carroll Award from the Carroll Center for the Blind in Newton in recognition of his myriad accomplishments. Inspired by his legacy, his son Michael is completing residency training in ophthalmology in Boston.

Bob’s greatest joy in life was providing for and cherishing time with his large family. He is survived by his wife Stephanie of North Attleboro, his son Alex and his wife Ashley of Lunenburg, his son Michael and his fiancée Hanna of Boston, his mother Yvonne of Hudson, his brother Johnny of Hudson, his brother Billy of Shirley, his sister-in-law Valerie of Eagle Lake, FL, his sister-in-law Barbara of Jeffersonton, VA, and his mother-in-law Patti of Leominster, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Robert of Hudson and his brother Stephen of Jeffersonton, VA. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and family, and he always left his door open for family and friends. His generous laugh and friendly disposition lit up every social gathering. He was actively involved with the Boy Scouts (now Scouting America) and was proud to be father and uncle of six Eagle Scouts. Bob was thrilled with his growing family, and he spent the day before his death at a baby shower for his first grandchild, expected to arrive in July.

Services to celebrate Bob’s life will begin with a wake at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home in Hudson, MA on Friday May 2nd from 4 – 7 PM. His Funeral will be held at St Michael Parish in Hudson, MA on Saturday May 3rd at 11 AM; followed by a procession to Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson, for committal services.
