Ronald A. Hill

Ronald A. Hill, 88, of Stow,Ma. Passed away at Care Dimensions hospice house, Lincoln, Ma. on October 8, 2023. He leaves his wife of 61 years, Barbara Joan (Hunley) Hill of Stow, Ma.

Ron was born in Burlington,Vt. the son of the late Olney W. and Allene M. (Bertholf) Hill.  Among his personal and professional accomplishments, Ron earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Vermont where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.  He later went on to earn a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Clark University. He worked for many years at Ferroxcube, IBM, and Digital Equipment Corporation.

Besides his wife,Barbara, Ron leaves his daughter, Linda C. Hill of Worcester,Ma.  and a son Christopher J. Hill of Ayer, Ma.  He was predeceased by his sister, Ruth M. (Hill) Marandola and his brother, Richard W. Hill.

Throughout his life, Ron had many hobbies and interests.  He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying mountain climbing, biking, and canoeing.  He was passionate about both cross country and downhill skiing as he skied many trails in New York and New England.  Ron and Barbara orchestrated many Girl Scout outings over the years from an afternoon of ice skating on a frozen reservoir to a week long canoeing and camping trip through the Adirondacks.

Ron was a talented photographer sharing his love of photography and photo development as a 4H leader.  In his retirement, Ron enjoyed repairing computers for Stow seniors through the Council on Aging.

Ron always had time for his children and we will always be grateful for all the activities and outings that we were able to experience together as a family.

There are no calling hours.  Burial services will be private at the convenience of the family.
