Berlin, MA

"Trudy" Rowena G. (Bousquet) Tervo, of Berlin, a beloved figure in her community, passed away peacefully at her residence on October 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and closest loving companion Norman Bryant. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Willian (Bill) Tervo. She was born on December 8, 1939, in Stow, Massachusetts, Rowena was raised in both Stow and Hudson. She was a proud graduate of Hudson High School, class of 1957, and later earned her nursing degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Assabet Valley Nursing Program.

Trudy dedicated a significant part of her professional life to her work as an LPN, beginning her career at Framingham Union Hospital in Framingham, Massachusetts. She later transitioned to serve at the Bolton Manor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Marlboro before retiring at the age of 60.

Trudy was not only dedicated to her career but also to her family and community. She was known for her spunky personality and her infectious energy, drawing people in with her warmth and generosity. She took great joy in entertaining, always welcoming family, friends, an Exchange student from Mexico, Hugo, and several foster children into her home.

A significant part of Trudy's life was her dedication to youth and her involvement in various community activities. She proudly served as a Girl Scout Leader and a Cub Scout Den Mother, sharing her skills in sewing, baking and camping with young adults. Her involvement extended beyond her own children, as she cherished the opportunity to nurture and encourage others in her community.

Her hobbies included participating in knitting, quilting, sewing and crocheting, and she looked forward to the annual arts and crafts show in Berlin and Clinton each year selling many of her crafted items. Through all her activities and passions, Rowena's proudest accomplishments were raising her family and caring for her grandchildren and Christmas Cookie Day, a 3 generation legacy that lives on through them.

The community she enriched will remember Rowena as an active member of the Lions Club, just last week holding the boot in the middle of the road. The American Legion Auxiliary, Council on Aging, of Berlin. V.F.W. in Hudson, as well as her contributions to the Hudson and Berlin Senior Centers and the Hudson Quilting Club. She also enjoyed her friends and work in the Sandy Island Camp, a Boston YMCA camp on Lake Winnipesaukee. She loved all the love a support and just plain fun she had with the Nashoba Neighbors.

Trudy is survived by her son, William H. Tervo III and his wife Michaela of Leominster, MA; her daughter Miki Patterson and Walter Leclair of Berlin and Pine Island FL and daughter Sharon Lee Mulligan and fiancé Michael Barry of Boylston, MA. Her daughter Erin Gale Mojkowski predeceased her in 2018, She also leaves behind her sister Marie Jastko and her husband Edward of North Carolina, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren including William Andrew Tervo, Rebecca Patterson Cipkas and her husband Joshua, Natasha Mojkowski, Peter Tervo and his wife Rebecca, James Mulligan, Shawn Patterson and his fiancée Olivia Stapleton, Katrina Hebert and her husband Alex, Lydia Patterson, Christopher James Tervo; great grandchildren Liam Tervo, Charlotte Tervo, Baker Erin Patterson, Kyle and Allison Hebert, along with her foster children Kathleen Oglivie, Debra Oglivie, Hugo Cesar Cadavieco Alarcon, whom she has kept in touch with since 1977, Jon and Michael Dzyndolet, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and Jordan and Penelope adopted grandkids from next door.

Trudy was preceded in death by her husband William Henry Tervo Jr., who passed away in 2018; her father Paul Bousquet; her mother Rowena (Wright) Bousquet; and her siblings Sandra Bousquet, Pauline Bauer, and Richard James Bousquet.

Visitation will be held at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, located at 50 Central St., Hudson, MA, on Monday, October 27, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will take place the following day, Tuesday, October 28, 2025, starting at 11:00 AM at the same location. Burial services will be held at a later date in North Cemetery, Berlin, MA

"Trudy" Rowena G. Tervo will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.
