Sandra A. Rego, of Hudson, Massachusetts, passed away on July 18, 2026, at her residence, following a Long term illness. She was 48 years old. Sandra’s last days were spent in the comforting embrace of her family, a testament to the love and closeness that defined her life.

Born on December 27, 1977, in Framingham, MA, Sandra was the beloved daughter of the late David and Elvira Rego. She was raised in Hudson, attending local schools and was 1995 graduate of Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School in Marlborough. She attended Becker College earning her Associate's Degree in Criminal Justine in 1998. From her earliest years, she approached life with warmth and kindness, traits that continued to endear her to all who knew her throughout her lifetime. 

Sandra began working at the Marlborough Holiday Inn in 1998. She held the position as front desk receptionist. A job that brought her much joy conversing and sharing laughter with all the guests she encountered. She remained there until 2002 when she accepted a position as a counselor for MCI in Framingham. In 2008 she accepted a counseling position with the Chrysalis House, a home for troubled teenage girls. Sandra truly instilled her warmth and giving spirit as a counselor and guided so many through life's difficult moments. She decided to retire in 2010 at a young age do to declining health. She instilled the value of life and the caring of others to her family and also the many lives she encountered. 

Sandra’s legacy is lovingly carried on by her devoted family. She is survived by her cherished daughter and best friend, Liana Melecio, whose presence brought immense pride and joy into Sandra’s life. She is also survived by her sister, Lisa Traiforos and her husband Nick; her brother, Robert "Bobby" Rego and his wife Alicia. The bonds between Sandra and her siblings were enduring and filled with affection.

In the circle of family, Sandra’s light shone brightly on her nephew and Godson Jason Traiforos; her niece Alyssa Traiforos, and nephews Isaak and Luke Rego. Sandra found special delight in her role as their “Bina”, generously sharing her wisdom and spirit with each of them. Her daughter's long time friend Lana Soto held a treasured place in Sandra’s heart, and the friendship they all shared was a source of strength and laughter. She also leaves behind her many other relatives, friends and her loyal 3 year old cat "Ash", whom she cared for and shared that special bond between human and pet.

Sandra’s presence in the lives of her family and friends was marked by gentle compassion and steady support. Her enduring relationships reflected the depth of her character and the love she freely gave. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and unwavering devotion to those she cared for most.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 10:00 AM in Saint Michael's Parish Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson, MA. Burial will follow at Saint Michael Cemetery, 278 Cox Street, Hudson, MA.
