Sheryl L. Allen

Sheryl L. (Gullotti) Allen (75) passed away peacefully on September 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 5, 1951, in Waltham, Massachusetts. Sheryl was raised there, attended local schools, and was a 1969 graduate of Waltham High School.

Sheryl was a woman of many talents; her career spans multiple decades and several industries. In her younger days, she worked at the Waltham Supermarket where she made lifelong friendships. She later came to be an H-Town favorite as she served spirits to friends and patrons at Jack Prinsteiner's. She spent years as a respected finance manager at the Best Western Royal Plaza and Chiswick, Inc. Most recently, she spent her days as a member of the leadership team, working in the Health & Life Sciences industry training employees globally in customer service at Cytiva. In 2020, she began working the most prized job she would ever hold - retirement (and substitute teaching).

The most important thing to Sheryl was being with her family. When she wasn't with family, she enjoyed many hours shanking balls on the golf course as part of the Butternut Babes women’s golf league. She loved making frequent donations to any and all casinos. For many years she was active in participating in the APA Pool league, leading her team to the National stage in Vegas. She had a talent for, and love of, art and music; a teacher at heart, she once ran her own ceramic studio. Family game nights hold some of her most cherished past times. She also found great joy in traveling, whether on ocean cruises through the Caribbean, train rides through Europe, or during visits to her favorite place, Old Orchard Beach. Any ocean anywhere was her most happy place.

She will be remembered as a fiercly loving and protective mother, sister, Nauntie, and Nana. She was an endless caregiver and provider, who often opened her home to anyone who needed a place to stay or a seat at the Thanksgiving table. She was courageous, strong, compassionate and quick witted. She empathized and sympathized and truly felt the pain of others, doing anything she could to brighten a gloomy day. She brought laughter, warmth and sarcasm to every room. Her greatest passion in life was her family. She took deep pride in raising her children and later treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren. She was a steady and loving presence at their events, whether in sports or other activities, cheering them on with joy and devotion. She will fondly and forever be referred to as "Tahanto Nana", a name she coined for herself and one that was quickly embraced by the entire Tahanto community.

Sheryl is survived by her children, Jessica Allen of Hudson, MA, Scott Allen and his wife Amy of Berlin, MA, Karen Allen of St. Louis, MO, and Ashley Allen of Leominster, MA. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Jack, Molly, and Drew Allen, who were a special source of pride and happiness in her life. She is also survived by her sister, Sandra (Gullotti) Lubin and her husband Jeff of Marlborough, MA; by her nephew, Ashton Lubin; by her life long bestfriend Margaret Arsenault along with many other close relatives and friends. She leaves behind a family who will carry her memory forward with love, gratitude, and the many stories, traditions, and moments she gave them.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, John Allen Jr., by her beloved Nana, Edith (Mullin, Greene) Hudson, and by her parents, Leonard Gullotti and Verna (Greene) Gullotti.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, Massachusetts 01749. A Celebration of Life will be held there on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. Burial services will be held privately.

Sheryl will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her humor, her generosity, her creativity, and above all, the love she gave so freely to her family and friends.
