Hudson, MA

Stephen E. Poole, of Hudson, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly on August 29, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on April 23, 1947, in Winchester, Massachusetts, Stephen (Steve) (Poole Man) lived a life marked by caring, kindness, and a deep commitment to the people and pursuits he loved.

Steve was a man for whom work was not simply an occupation, but a true part of him. He was a graduate of Northeastern University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. Beginning his work in 1971, he worked for Whitman and Howard in his early career then later founded Consolidated Design, then Lakeview Engineering which he continued to own and operate the business throughout his life. His steady dedication to his work reflected his wish to help people. Through his work he built strong and lasting friendships.

Outside of his professional life, Steve found joy in simple and meaningful pleasures. He loved reading, bringing his family and dogs on road trips to visit the ocean and walking in the woods. He is known as someone who was good natured, helpful to everyone who needed a hand, and that generosity of spirit will be remembered by all who knew him. Steve was also a devoted animal lover. He and his wife, Lynne, cared for many dogs over the years, sharing their home and hearts with them.

Above all, Steven will be remembered by his family with love. He is survived by his wife, Lynne Poole. He also leaves his son, Stephen M. Poole, and Stephen’s partner, Laura Kelly, of Florida; his daughter, Erica Weil, and her husband, Richard, of Webster, Massachusetts; his brother, David J. Poole, of Winchester, Massachusetts; and his sister-in-law, Carol Poole, of Salem, New Hampshire. The love of his family, and the many memories they shared with him, will remain a lasting comfort.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Poole and Leona Poole; and his brother, Stewart Poole.

Steve’s life was one of hard work, quiet generosity, and enduring affection for family, animals, nature, and the everyday places, people in the community, and routines that brought him happiness. He will be deeply missed and warmly remembered.

An opportunity to celebrate the life of Steve is to be scheduled, he can be celebrated daily through acts of kindness and taking a moment to reflect on the simple joys in life.
